Let’s put it into perspective...
Coaches usually get one hour a week with your child.
That’s 1 out of 168 hours in a week.
And in that one hour — often shared with 6 to 19 other kids — we expect them to work miracles?
Truth is, there’s only so much a volunteer coach can do in that time.
They’re giving their best, but development doesn’t happen in isolation.
Parents play a role too.
⚽ Go to the park and have a kickabout after school.
🧤 Book the odd 1-to-1 session when you can.
🏃♂️ Encourage them to play freely with friends.
Because here’s the truth:
The kids who play more, improve more.
Not just the ones who turn up to training once a week.
It’s not about blaming coaches — especially not the mums and dads who volunteer their time.
It’s about all of us doing our bit to help kids grow.
