About Me
As a passionate sports enthusiast—much to my wife’s amusement (she insists I’d even watch tiddlywinks if it were televised!)—I’ve dedicated my life to supporting grassroots sports. I’m a proud father of two amazing kids, whose cricket and football teams I have the privilege of coaching. And as a family, we share an unwavering devotion to Everton FC!
Professional Expertise
After 17 years in policing, I transitioned into government policy, where I honed my expertise in Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs), charities, Gift Aid, and volunteer expenses. My time working in UK government policy gave me a rich and nuanced understanding of the regulations that govern grassroots organisations, including what clubs can and cannot claim.
This knowledge enables me to guide clubs through the often-complex landscape of funding opportunities with confidence. I help organisations navigate HMRC and other regulatory requirements, ensuring they can maximise their income while staying fully compliant.
My mission is to share this expertise with clubs across the UK, helping them unlock significant funding streams—funds that the government actively encourages them to claim. By doing so, I empower grassroots sports organisations to grow, thrive, and continue making a positive impact in their communities.
One of my key areas of focus is Gift Aid—a resource that many clubs are unaware of or underutilise. Each year, over £500 million in Gift Aid goes unclaimed, and my mission is to change that.
With a simple and effective process, grassroots clubs can generate between £5,000 and £15,000 annually, with minimal effort required from volunteers or players. These funds can make a significant impact, year after year, helping clubs grow and thrive.
