There are many opportunities for junior grassroots football in the North East England.

The North East is one of the nine official regions of England. It consists of Newcastle upon Tyne, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Gateshead, Darlington, Hartlepool and Durham.

There are two FA Counties in the North East, offering opportunities for youth grassroots football. These are Durham FA and Northumberland FA. Both of these are responsible for developing and supporting all aspects of junior grassroots football.
